HARBOR is an Italian company located in the heart of Bologna, which has been developing, formulating, producing and marketing cosmetics with its own brands for over 30 years. The founding values of HARBOR are, from the beginning, connected to innovation and to the culture of natural wellness.
It is from the special vials for hair that the brand Phytorelax Laboratories brand was born; a philosophy, a new way of conceiving beauty. Phytorelax cosmetics are not only about Nature; the products are created to be a bridge between the properties of plants and the people who want to feel good.
In the following years, the Phytorelax Laboratories brand has been enriched with a wide range of monographic lines, which today are icons, such as Almond, Shea, Argan, Bach Flowers where the passion for Nature meets Cosmetic Research.
Our R&D labs focus on developing extremely green formulations with more than 98% natural ingredients.
The decision of focusing on eco-sustainable cosmetics allowed HARBOR cosmetics to become a leading company in the field of Certified Natural cosmetics under the Phytorelax Laboratories brand.

HARBOR S.p.A. is a company with a double soul, characterized by two different brands, Phytorelax & Intra, which products are completely formulated and manufactured a few kilometers from Bologna.
Phytorelax is a brand of natural cosmetics for Face, Body and Hair Care, created by HARBOR S.p.A. in the 90’s. The name “Phytorelax” embodies its own philosophy: well-being and relaxation that come from the use of active ingredients and functional phytoextracts. The brand’s message is international: Phytorelax Laboratories represents a refined but accessible concept of beauty, developed in innovative and effective products as the result of a continuous dialogue between Nature, Science and Design. Today Phytorelax is the “Premium”brand of HARBOR S.p.A.; in fact its cosmetics are characterized by very high performance and naturalness.
Intra is a brand of Natural & Organic Cosmetics for Skin, Body and Hair Care, created by HARBOR S.p.A. at the beginning of the new Millennium. A cosmetic line created and designed for those who have a “green” and conscious approach to cosmetics. That is why all Intra products are Organic Certified by AIAB and VeganOK; they are also free from Parabens, Silicones and Artificial colors. Intra is the “Democratic” brand of HARBOR S.p.A., in fact cosmetics are designed to make beauty accessible to the widest possible audience.

Our loyal collaborators and the production chain are Italian. We declare this by inserting on our packaging a new company sticker “Naturally Italian”.
We have always selected the best suppliers in our Italian territory: we buy raw materials, primary packaging, plant and machinery from our Italian suppliers.
To guarantee the quality that distinguishes us, we choose the best Italian collaborators for external analysis and testing services performed by laboratories and universities.

80’s
Harbor Foundation
Harbor, the natural cosmetics company, was born in the heart of Bologna.
The founding values of Harbor are, from the beginning, connected to innovation and to the culture of natural wellness.
90’s
Phytorelax Laboratories was born
A new very innovative product is created in the Harbor scientific laboratory for the trichology market of those years: a vial for hair formulated with a mixture of 33 natural ingredients, wisely divided between vegetable extracts and essential oils.
A true vegetable beauty treatment dedicated to the professional world, which until then had never appreciated the potential of natural cosmetics. Harbor vial had an instant success; the clients of the beauty salons were very happy after the treatment and reported a feeling of relief and wellness in the skin which had never felt before. It is thanks to this commercial success that the name Phytorelax was born: a name which contains its own philosophy, that is; wellness and relaxation, arising from the use of functional active ingredients and plant extracts
2000’s
It is from the special vials for hair that in the year 2000 the Phytorelax Laboratories brand was born; a philosophy, a new way of conceiving beauty. That of Phytorelax is a type of cosmetics that is not only about Nature; the products are created to be a bridge between plants and the people who want to feel good. In those years, the first line of Bach Flower Remedies was born, which is the result of the collaboration with well-known experts in traditional and non-conventional medicine. A line even today among the most demanded by customers since it perfectly combines the concept of cosmetics and psychophysical wellness.
New innovative cosmetic lines were subsequently created that combined Nature and Science. At the heart of every project there is a deep and careful study of the properties of every single plant that Nature offers. With the passage of time, in fact, the Phytorelax Laboratories brand is enriched with a wide range of monographic lines, which today are icons, such as Olive, Almond, Shea butter, Cocoa and Argan, where the passion for Nature meets cosmetic research.
2008
Nature meets Design
Curiosity and the desire to create even more original packages able to stand out in the market of natural products grow at the same time and the result of this brings out a new study of the packaging and its materials. The aim is to focus on a novel combination: Nature and Design. This is how in 2008 the decision of using a square design packaging was born, absolutely innovative in the world of cosmetics- elegant, refined but not elitist. Transparent and amber coloured materials are preferred; this is a characteristic that even today represents the Phytorelax Laboratories brand. A clever choice which intends to convey a clear message to customers, but at the same time safeguarding quality and the nature of the cosmetic formula contained inside.
2012
International choice
New markets open, firstly towards United States that value design, Italian elegance and the professional approach of the brand. Today the Phytorelax Laboratories brand of Bologna is exported to 35 countries around the world, establishing itself as one of the best European cosmetics export brand. Its message is international: Phytorelax Laboratories represents refined yet affordable cosmetics, based on innovative and effective products as a result of an always present synergy of Nature, Science and Design.
2015
COSMOS ORGANIC
Increasingly attentive to people’s desires and respect for our planet, Phytorelax creates its first COSMOS ORGANIC certified organic line, developed in compliance with the highest standards applicable to organic cosmetics, in accordance with the criteria of Cosmos Standards, the rigorous regulations recognized at European and international level.
2017
Bio Phytorelax Skin care
A new and precious face line is born of the search for innovative and increasingly effective biological formulas: Bio Phytorelax Skin Care. Phytorelax laboratories create a brand new complete cosmetic line of Organic and Vegan Ok certified products for facial cleansing and treatment. These products combine Nature and Science to address the problems of all skin types.
For an increasingly greener Beauty Routine, Phytorelax has created a new line of aluminum salt and parabens free, Cosmo Natural and Vegan Ok certified deodorants. The line meets a variety of needs; its wide range of deodorants provide natural, refreshing and delicate protection.
30 years after the birth of the Phytorelax brand and the experience honed in the world of fragrances, here are the first 8 “Inspired by Nature” colognes. The Phytorelax proposal stands out for quality and style: fragrances are both 100% Vegan Friendly, Dermatologically-tested, and, obviously, Made in Italy. Each of them contains an unprecedented bouquet of fragrances that stimulate senses and mind; it is like wearing Nature fragrances every day.
2018
Relaunching Brand Intra
In 2018 the brand “INTRA, La Natura Dentro” is relaunched, with a new Hair Care line consisting of a wide range of products Certified Organic AIAB, Vegan OK, free of Parabens, Silicones and Artificial Colors.
In the same year the offer is implemented with a line dedicated to facial and body beauty.
The relaunch of the Intra brand is very successful and a new highly delicate cosmetic line is formulated on the scalp: the “Oils- Shampoos for sensitive skin”. These are available in three different types: Dandruff, Seboregulating and Nourishing. They stand out for being on the market among the few certified organic and vegan shampoo oils.
To complete the “Bodycare Bath Shower” line, a specific line is created for the cleansing of the most delicate skins: the “Shower Oils”, able to cleanse, protecting the hydrolipidic film skin and nourish the skin without greasing it. Five captivating fragrances that transform a product with a purely curative character, into a pleasant and fun experience.
2021
In the area of facial care, Bio Phytorelax launches a new type of specific treatment: “Pure Active Face Concentrates”, Jaluronic Acid, Vitamin C, Collagen, Glycolift®. These are distinguished by their innovative sensory qualities and proven effectiveness, thanks to the high concentration of targeted substances. The line is designed to satisfy the desire of consumers to use natural products without sacrificing performance and effectiveness.
Phytorelax begins the renewal and extension of the specific cosmetic lines for the care of the skin of the body, creating increasingly sustainable formulas and obtaining the certifications Aiab Bio Eco Cosmetics and Veganok.
This path begins with the selection of new active ingredients, some new to the Italian market and especially with the highest cosmetic properties, such as: Organic Sativa Hemp Oil, Organic Tea Tree Oil and 31 Organic Herbs Oil. By enhancing the benefits of the precious oils, each of the new active ingredients are developed complete and effective beauty routines for the care of the skin of the body.
In the case of the line “Oil 31 Herbs”, the secret is contained in the mixture of the 31 plants expertly selected by the laboratories Phytorelax. An original recipe with an antique flavour that contains pure essential oils and extracts 100% natural. A perfect beauty ritual for the well-being of body and mind.
Driven by the desire to offer to the Phytorelax loyal consumers a new range of cosmetics increasingly safe, effective and sustainable, we update formulations and packaging design of the most popular lines for the body.
The renewal begins with active ingredients of great success: the Organic Virgin Coconut Oil, Almond Oil, the famous Argan Oil and Shea Butter, the latter from the Fairtrade Supply Chain.
2022
In the world of male cosmetics, the needs and habits are constantly renewed; being attentive to the new demands of the affectionate male audience, opens a line of extension and renewal in packaging design. The New Line “Men’s Grooming” gets the Veganok certification and welcomes new cosmetics specific for the care of the beard and hair of today’s man.
At the same time, in the trichological sector, new highly performing and effective lines are inaugurated: the constant success of the Professional Haircare lines means that Phytorelax Laboratories create new lines capable of responding to increasingly specific needs and that guarantee at the same time real and long-lasting results. The lines are inaugurated: Keratin Color Protection Color for colored and treated hair, Keratin No-Yellow for blond, gray and bleached hair and Keratin Curly Revives Curls and Frizz for curly and wavy hair.
